DOH: First measles cases reported in the capital region
ALBANY, NY (WNYT) – The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Measles Dashboard is reporting cases in the Capital Region.
The dashboard, updated Oct. 6, shows two cases in Montgomery County. It is the only county in the Capital Region with current cases.
Counties with the highest number of cases include Otsego (20), Seneca (18) and Steuben (14).
Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of disaster emergency as the number of cases in New York reached more than 100. The emergency order added paramedics, advanced emergency medical services (EMS) providers, pharmacists and midwives to the list of health care providers who can administer measles vaccines.
