DOJ subpoenas Gallego’s PAC over Disneyland records
The senator Rubén Gallego The PAC’s leadership has been subpoenaed as part of a federal investigation into the Arizona Democrat’s use of his campaign money to finance a luxurious lifestyle, according to a copy of the subpoena obtained by POLITICO.
The Justice Department issued a federal grand jury subpoena on Aug. 21 — the existence of which was not previously reported — to Gallego’s Juntos PAC. It requires the PAC to produce information relating to “activities occurring on or about” September 9, 2025, as well as records and declarations. Gallego submitted to the Senate Ethics Committee as part of its investigation into allegations of misuse of campaign funds, which the committee rejected in June.
The subpoena states that it is for an “ongoing criminal investigation” and that the requested records will be turned over to a grand jury. His deadline was September 4.
In a statement to POLITICO, Gallego’s spokesperson Jacques Petit said “the leadership PAC has complied and responded to Trump’s DOJ subpoena because it has nothing to hide.” Little did not respond to a question about whether Gallego he, his family or one of his collaborators or campaign agents had also been subpoenaed.
