Fifteen days to three weeks reserve
According to the deputy, the tanks of the Mallarmé swimming pool, today filled to the tune of 1 200 m³, can allow “ hold out for 15 days, 3 weeks peacefully and get through the new predicted heatwave. » Then, the municipality does not rule out requesting a new exemption to water the Léo-Lagrange stadium, which requires 400 m3 of water per week. The flower beds, whose water consumption is estimated at around 92 m3 weekly, could continue to be watered with the overflow of the Mallarmé swimming pool : 100m3 weekly during vacation periods (compared to 250 m3 during school periods).
“ We will be in contact with state services. We work in harmony. They are the ones who have the elements to determine whether it is relevant or not. What concerns us most is being able to continue watering Léo-Lagrange, all the trees less than two years old and the flower beds in the conditions we are experiencing and with the reserves at our disposal.
The deputy would like to salute the commitment of the agents, who, on a voluntary basis, work late in the evening and early in the morning to water and maintain the green spaces. “ These overtime hours will be recovered : all this is closely monitored by the services.
