Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had an unusual moment Sunday, when he raised his arm to throw and his hand came forward without the ball in it.
After the match, Maye had an unusual explanation.
“(Center) Jared (Wilson) was bleeding from his hand,” Maye said. “I got the ball and I was trying to get one to (receiver) Kyle (Wiliams). And (he) slipped from my hands.”
This is a variation of Brucie from The Longest Yard, when he attributes his loss of grip on the ball to simply eating popcorn. Either way, Patriots fans were probably choking on their popcorn watching Maye’s latest performance.
The Patriots are now 1-2. And they’ll face the Bills in Buffalo next weekend.
