Eagles News: Ben Solak says Philadelphia offense is ‘unsalvageable’
After a month of games, we’ve seen a series of backup signal callers being called into action across the league. This is especially true for quarterbacks in the NFC East.
Jaxson Dart was lost, at minimum, for the Giants’ regular season. Jameis Winston helped New York to some wins and the team also traded for former first-round pick JJ McCarthy.
Jayden Daniels is once again out of the lineup for Washington. Marcus Mariota was fantastic in an upset win over Seattle in Week 3, but was injured Sunday in London, forcing seventh-round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis to step in against the Colts.
Andy Dalton has thrown just one pass for the Eagles this season, but it came at a cost: a goal-line interception against the Bears last Monday with Jalen Hurts momentarily sidelined, creating a huge inflection point in this game. Dalton was so bad that the Eagles made Tanner McKee their official QB2 this past Sunday.
Dallas’ Sam Howell hasn’t played much football since becoming a full-time starter in 2023 with Washington, but he at least brings that experience to the table.
This all brings me to my question… How confident are you in your team’s backup QB situation?
As an Eagles fan, the “Quarterback Factory” of yesteryear seems like ages ago. I think McKee might still have some juice left even after a poor performance in Week 18 last season, so I’ll go with a 4 out of 10 for now. Dalton should never see the field again, however. I would prefer to eliminate fifth-round rookie Cole Payton at this point.
I would like to know what all the fans think…
