The ever-changing landscape of sports puts FSU in an interesting place.

Or have things gotten worse with the mediocrity that has largely defined the last decade of FSU football outside of a few outliers?

There’s no doubt that FSU is a good job, attractive to seasoned coaches and aspiring newbies alike. But as conference dominoes have fallen over the years and TV deal revenues have soared, FSU has damaged its reputation.

It’s likely that FSU finishes as the top position on the market this offseason. Still, the answer to the question of how attractive the vacant position is will come when the university finds its replacement. Mike Norvell.

As FSU began this process in earnest on Sunday, 247Sports set out to see what the true perception of Florida State is in college football.

National recruiting reporters Brendan Sonnone, Brian Dohn, Mike Roach, Tom Loy and Zach Blostein contacted dozens of college personnel executives and coaches to gauge the temperature of FSU’s job in the football world.

Is this a good job? A great job? Or an elite S-level job?
