Children will soon have a financial stake in the future of space.
“Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX (SPCX) shares to every child in America. This will be the first of many,” SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said in an article published on X on Monday.
Musk did not specify an age range for the proposed gift.
SpaceX stock rose 1% Monday in premarket trading.

There are currently approximately 73 million children under the age of 18 living in the United States, according to the latest Census Bureau data. This figure drops to around 18.5 million for newborns under 4 years old.
SpaceX Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell has already pledged to make a personal donation of more than $320 million in SpaceX stock to fund the Trump accounts of more than 2 million children.
