Fairfield shooting: Pregnant mother Constance Hages killed, 6 others injured after shooting at Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) — One person was killed and six others injured in a shooting Friday evening in downtown Solano in Fairfield.
Three of the victims are in critical condition in local hospitals, Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said.
Firefighters responded around 8:30 p.m. to the shooting at the Spirit Halloween costume store in Town Center, Solano County’s largest enclosed shopping center, at 1350 Travis Blvd., near Interstate Highway 80.
Fairfield Police said that based on preliminary information obtained during the investigation, the shooting is believed to have started from a targeted incident involving a suspect inside the Spirit Halloween store.
“This is what Fairfield looks like before Halloween,” said Michelle Marie Anderson of Fairfield, who was dropping her niece off at the mall when she heard a youngster calling for help.
“He had apparently been shot and was outside, walking away from the store,” she said. “Everyone was running.”
