Fans go wild after Tiffany Stratton qualifies for Money in the Bank

Comments Off on Fans go wild after Tiffany Stratton qualifies for Money in the Bank

Tiffany Stratton is officially returning to Money in the Bank, but many WWE fans aren’t happy about it. Instead of celebrating his qualifying victory, social media quickly filled with complaints from fans who felt WWE should have taken the opportunity to bring up someone new.

Stratton defeated Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae in a Triple Threat Match on the October 2 episode of SmackDown, securing the final spot in this year’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Although the match garnered a positive reaction, the finish divided fans almost immediately, with many pointing out that Stratton had already won the briefcase and had already reached the top of the women’s division. One fan took to Twitter and made it clear that he thinks WWE completely dropped the ball.

“You were lucky enough to have a selection of all the women who have never won a world title, but you often choose to give a damn yourself.”

Many fans also felt it was the perfect opportunity to give Candice LeRae or Tatum Paxley a career-defining moment: “She didn’t need it. Candice or Tatum would have benefited more.” Others wondered why WWE returned to Stratton after she had already won Money in the Bank once before.

“Yeah, sure. Instead of giving an opportunity to a new superstar, let’s just give it to someone who has already won the MITB and a world title…”

Another fan argued that this is exactly what Money in the Bank is meant to avoid, clarifying that it used to be about giving opportunities to someone new and not established.

“Previously this match was about giving someone new the opportunity to become champion and not about giving the same opportunities to the same people.”

Paxley seemed to have the most support after the match, with many thinking she should have been the one to pass, with one fan saying it was simply terrible booking on WWE’s part.

“Terrible booking.. Tatum should have won but no, give it to someone who has already been to MITB and won the briefcase 🤦🏼‍♀️”

Another fan also pointed out that Stratton only recently competed in another ladder match, which was back at SummerSlam earlier this year.

“She was JUST in a ladder match******. Tatum and Candice were STOLEN.”

Love the decision or hate it, Tiffany Stratton is officially back in the Money in the Bank realm and WWE clearly has big plans for her. Whether these plans end in another briefcase victory remains to be seen, but judging by the reaction online, many fans would have preferred to see a new face get the opportunity instead.

Do you agree with WWE’s decision, or should Tatum Paxley or Candice LeRae have won the latest Money in the Bank spot? Let us know in the comments below.
