First human death of the year from West Nile virus reported in DuPage County

So far, six cases of WNV have been reported in DuPage County in 2026. Last year, 14 residents had confirmed cases of WNV in the county, one of whom died.

“We are deeply saddened to share the news of the first West Nile virus-related death in DuPage County this year,” DCHD Executive Director Adam Forker said in a statement.
