Free-to-play RPG ‘The New Denpa Men’ will end later this year

Genius Sonority, the developer and publisher behind 2024 free-to-play RPG The New Denpa Men, has announced that it will end service of the game later this year.
Regular game service will end on December 7 at 8 p.m. GMT / 9 p.m. CET / 12 p.m. PT / 3 p.m. ETWith all in-game data such as jewelry and items no longer available, the studio recommends that you use up all paid jewelry before things end, although it appears some refunds are available.
“We sincerely apologize to all our players for this sudden announcement,” reads a message from the developers on the game’s website. “Since the launch of the service, we have worked every day to bring you a better game,” it continues, “However, we concluded that it would be difficult to continue providing a service that met your expectations, and we have decided to end it.”
Genius Sonority wrapped things up by thanking gamers for their support over the past two years and apologizing, once again, for closing stores so quickly.
We had a perfectly GOOD time with The New Denpa Men on Switch in 2024, calling it “an excellent light JRPG for anyone looking for a basic introduction to the genre”, in our review, but feeling let down by its simplicity and the usual free-to-play trappings.
It landed a Switch 2 version earlier this year, with improved visuals and performance tweaks to boot, although that version was only around for eight months before things ended.
