Milwaukee is holding a parade to celebrate the Brewers winning their first World Series title in franchise history.
The parade will take place Friday and some school districts are closing to avoid transportation problems and give students the chance to witness history.
School districts that canceled
- Milwaukee Public Schools: All school sites are closed and staff are no-shows. No classes or activities before or after school will take place. There will be no recreational activities or programs in Milwaukee except for post-season high school sporting events. The staff involved and the families will receive direct communication.
- The Wauwatosa School District will be closed Friday, October 30. All classes are canceled for the day. All pre- and extracurricular programs and activities, including Department of Athletics and Recreation programs, will continue as scheduled.
- All schools and buildings in the Cudahy district will be closed Friday.
- The West Allis School District has fall break, so classes have already been canceled. The Whitefish Bay and Germantown school districts also previously had scheduled days off.
