Galaxy S27 Ultra’s camera could solve two problems seen on Samsung phones

The launch of the Galaxy S27 series is still four months away, but most details about the phones in the lineup have already leaked. While the basic camera setup of the Galaxy S27 Ultra surfaced months ago, finer details are now emerging, revealing the improvements we can expect in Samsung’s next flagship phone.

Tipster Ice universe (@UniverseIce) claims that the Galaxy S27 Ultra uses ISOCELL HP6. It is a 1/1.3-inch 200MP camera sensor and a modified version of the existing ISOCELL HPC sensor.

The phone is also said to feature a 50 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and F2.9 aperture, as well as a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. They are all placed in a rectangular camera bar, like a recent leak.

Thanks to the newer sensor and an improved image processing pipeline, the Galaxy S27 Ultra delivers warmer color tones than the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The camera is also said to offer much better highlight control, meaning the edges and details of tiny bright objects in a scene will no longer appear blown out. This improvement would apply to both the main and telephoto cameras.

Samsung also apparently managed to reduce noise in darker areas of a scene and in low-light conditions. As a result, images appear sharper and smoother, especially in shadows.

It’s still unclear whether the South Korean company has fixed the biggest problem plaguing Samsung smartphone cameras: motion blur. Currently, capturing moving subjects on Galaxy devices often results in blurry photos, an issue that affects photos of children and pets.

We hope Samsung fixes both motion blur and noise issues across its entire upcoming lineup, including the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
