Game Pass is about to lose Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and some other incredible games
Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 was one of the best games of 2025 and one of the best third-party releases ever to join Game Pass day and date. Players now have over a year to complete the turn-based RPG, but for subscribers who haven’t yet taken the plunge, time is running out. The GOTY winner will leave Game Pass on October 15.
This leaves you with just under two weeks to complete the trip or start it from scratch. You can rush the main story to complete it in less than 30 hours, but if you want to squeeze in all the extended content, a full run-through will take you more than double that. Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 is one of the few JRPG-inspired games that has managed to break through in the modern era to a wider audience, thanks in part to its new dodging and parrying mechanics that inject new energy into the usual turn-based gameplay. It’s also worth going all the way to reach the end of the twist.
But Clair Obscur isn’t the only big game leaving Game Pass this month either. The full list includes:
- The casting of Frank Stone
- Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33
- Crime scene cleaner
- Donut County
- Evil West
- Superball
- Nova Roma (Game Preview)
- Pacific Walk
- A plague tale requiem
Pacific Walk And A plague tale requiem are both great, especially for spooky month. The first is a sci-fi survival game in which you must navigate an area full of strange anomalies with a haunted station wagon. The latter involves surviving in a late medieval Europe infested with disease-carrying rats. Donut Countyon the other hand, is a light puzzle game that you can complete in just a few hours and remains one of my favorite indie games of all time.
