
George Clooney discusses the death of Cindy Crawford’s son, Presley Gerber

George Clooney keep your business partner Rande Gerber in his thoughts.
After Rande and his wife Cindy Crawfordthe 27 year old son Presley Gerber Having died of a suspected overdose on September 20, the Oscar winner shared his condolences and offered support to the couple as they continue to navigate unimaginable tragedy.
“Honestly, this is one of the most devastating things that has happened to our family,” Clooney, who co-founded Casamigos Tequila with Rande in 2013, said Entertainment tonight on Oct. 9 at The Albies, an annual awards show hosted by his Clooney Foundation for Justice, “and their family is exactly as you would imagine.”
He added: “It’s the worst thing that can happen to a family.”
Presley was the only son of Rande and Crawford, who married in 1998. The couple also shares daughter Kaia Gerber.
Kaia, 25, had spoken openly about her brother’s struggle with drug addiction for ten years before his death. She said Vogue in an interview published in August, a month before Presley’s death, “When something like this happens in a family, it puts everyone on the same level.”
“I think that’s also why I started to identify as an easy person and never wanted to ask for help,” said the Shards star shared at the time. “Because it was too hard to have two children who needed it.”

Kaia nonetheless praised Presley for publicly addressing his struggles, including launching his social media series “Mental Health Mondays” in 2023 to discuss healthy habits and tools he’s learned over the years to manage his well-being.
“My parents were very, very private for most of our lives and didn’t share anything. And now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m going to be very human to everyone,'” she said. Royal Palm The actress continued. “There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to hide something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”

Indeed, Presley was candid about his trip. In March, he shared on Instagram that he was going to undergo an “ibogaine dose” — a high dose of natural psychedelics found in the iboga plant that is sometimes used to treat addiction — and was “praying that this would be the last time I had to come back.”
At the time, his parents praised his courage.
“You are a warrior!” Crawford wrote in the comments section, while her longtime husband added, “Facing what’s hard takes real strength and seeing you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”
