God Of War Laufey postponed to May
First-party PlayStation developer Santa Monica Studio has delayed its upcoming action game, God of War Laufey, to May. Specifically, the PlayStation 5 exclusive title will now launch on May 20, which is about a three-month delay from the original February 16 release date.
“Since God of War Laufey’s reveal in June, we’ve been deeply grateful to see so much enthusiasm for Faye’s journey through the All,” a studio statement read. “We don’t take for granted the trusted place in the studio to create an extraordinary experience worthy of the passion and dedication of our fans. With that in mind, we have made the decision to delay the release of God of War Laufey to May 20, 2027. We will make the most of every moment between now and then by putting the finishing touches and pushing the game to its full potential. On behalf of everyone on the team, we appreciate your patience and will be back soon to share more updates up to date.”
God of War Laufey stars Faye, Kratos’ deceased wife from his Nordic adventures, after she finds herself in the mysterious realm known as Everywhen following his death. There, she will fight monsters and creatures from various mythologies alongside a talking gelatinous cube and a talking sword belt. We’ll have to wait a little longer than expected now to see what his adventure entails.
God of War Laufey will now launch on PS5 next year on May 20. In the meantime, check out this newly revealed weapon, then find out how Amazon’s God of War TV series recast Kratos as Dave Bautista.
