Golden Retriever Puppy Uses Every Trick in the Book to Be the Best Rootstock
Puppies love nothing more than attention. They love to play and interact with people, and for Tucker the Golden Retriever, meeting as many new friends as possible seems to be his life’s mission!
This sweet boy is only 4 months old, but he is already the one-dog welcoming committee at his human’s business in Breckenridge, Colorado. Every day, he works as an official greeter, determined to brighten someone’s day simply by being himself.
It’s hard to resist an adorable puppy sitting in a doorway, and Tucker’s parents gave him the perfect title: Chief Happiness Officer. Honestly, I can’t imagine a better job for this little guy! He goes out of his way to look cute and irresistible. First, he sits near the door frame and looks longingly at anyone who might pass by. Then he pulls out his epic tail wiggle, which seems to be just the motivation people need to stop and say hello.

However, it seems that the sideways glance and down gaze really draw the crowds. LOL! I mean, who can resist an adorable Golden Retriever offering free tail wags and puppy kisses? Tucker clearly knows how to run a room, and at just 4 months old, he’s already a pro at making new friends!
Three Easy Ways to Socialize Your New Puppy
The experts of Royal Canin suggest several easy ways to start socializing your new puppy, including:
Introduce them to new people. Let your puppy meet a variety of people as often as possible so that he feels more comfortable around others in everyday life. Pay special attention to things that may seem intimidating, such as uniforms, sunglasses, hats and even wheelchairs. The more variety, the better!
Visit unknown places. Take your puppy to a variety of dog-friendly places to help him explore new environments. From pet-friendly stores to the beach and other safe outdoor spaces, these outings offer your little one’s sniffer plenty of new sights, sounds and smells to explore.
Introduce them to new sounds. Everyday noises can startle a young puppy, so gradually expose him to sounds like doorbells, cell phones, and passing trucks. Keep the experience positive and let your puppy adjust at his own pace.
Of course, one of the most important steps in socializing your puppy is making sure he is properly vaccinated before introducing him to new people, places and experiences. Check with your veterinarian which activities are safe for your puppy, based on their vaccination status and local disease risks.
