
Google is already rolling out Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 for Pixel

Following a QPR2 release earlier this week, Google is rolling out Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 today. This should see a stable release in March 2027.
Here’s everything new in Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 (Gallery)
The following issues have been fixed:
- The audio output device cannot be switched when playing audio from applications without active media controls. (Number 259180936)
- Apps crash when trying to start a foreground service from a Quick Settings tile. (Number 299506164)
- Application icons in the application menu appear with excessive spacing. (Number 316288379, Number 300758716)
- App previews are not displayed on the recent apps screen. (Number 515091621)
- NFC service crashes with DeadObjectException and stops detecting tags after initial scanning on Android 16. (Number 456078994)

- The camera feed rotates 90 degrees when using video calling apps on an external display in desktop mode. (Number 432390710)

- Unexpected point shown on mobile data icon in quick settings. (Number 551150806)
- The front camera does not work when screen recording is active. (Number 523313834)
- Calling applications crash with ForegroundServiceStartNotAllowedException while processing calls immediately after restarting the device. (Number 409069722)
- The eSIM profile cannot be activated and is silently disabled in settings. (Number 541436675)
- Excessive battery drain during inactivity when Flip to Shh is enabled. (Number 560036427)
- Settings app crashes when opening Battery settings. (Number 554603197)
- Audio playback stops on active LHDC v5 Bluetooth devices when a second connected device disconnects. (Number 554992287)
- com.android.phone, crash loop and complete loss of cellular service when modem reports unexpected SIM location hints. (Number 554049220)
- Wi-Fi fails to automatically reconnect during background wake-ups when PNO hardware scans fail or are not supported. (Number 551970385)

Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 system images are available for Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10a, Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, as well as the Android emulator.

If you prefer to exit the beta program and receive the stable public release of Android 17 QPR2, you can do so without wiping your device by unsubscribing and I am not installing today’s QPR3 Beta 1 update*. If you unsubscribe from the program* After By installing Beta 1 or any future updates, all user data on the device will be erased according to the program’s usual guidelines. Unsubscribing will trigger a “downgrade” OTA. Skip this update and wait for the public release of Android 17 QPR2 instead.
