Grassley slams Democrats who ‘went out of their way’ to defend Jack Smith
President of the Senate Judiciary Chuck Grassley hits back at Democrats on his committee who criticized GOP treatment of former special counsel Jack Smith – saying it was Democrats who acted embarrassingly during a recent hearing with Black-smith by “going out of his way” to defend the “illegal and unconstitutional actions” of the Biden-era prosecutor.
The letter from the Iowa Republican at the top of the democratic judiciary Dick Durbin of Illinois, obtained exclusively by POLITICO, also accuses Democrats of hiding records from Republicans in the past and refusing to engage in legitimate surveillance of that of Smith activities.
“See, your team can’t discuss the rules if they don’t follow them” Grassley written to Durbin.
Grassley’s letter was forwarded less than 24 hours later Durbin required Grassley apologize on behalf of his Republican committee colleagues for upsetting Black-smithwho filed a complaint against the president Donald Trump for attempting to overturn the 2020 election and mishandling classified documents.
