GTA 6 Leaker Threatens Rockstar With Doomsday Scenario If Meme Coin Hits $30 Million
After spending more than a month after Grand Theft Auto 6Expanded gameplay was revealed on Netflix, Cyberleek resurfaced earlier this week with a new video of new footage, including a look at Jason without any clothes on. The leaker is now threatening to release the entire version of the game he has access to if people buy enough Cyberleek coins to increase the market cap to over $30 million. According to Cyberleek, the only way for Rockstar to stop all this mess is to produce a disc-based version of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
“Here’s the deal, nice and clean,” reads a new “offer” notice posted on Cyberleek’s website on October 10. “CYBERLEEK hits 30 million market cap, release is available – full story mode, played to completion, credits and all. Don’t believe it has a full story mode? Ask for what you want to see, and it will be provided. Take-Two has only one way out: physical discs and a public apology. They can accept it at any time. Or they can bet CL is bluffing. Everyone knows which one they’ll choose.
People have long suspected that Cyberleek may have come into possession of a working version of GTA6 Given the unique nature of each of the leaked videos, this week’s additional 25 minutes of gameplay footage appears to reaffirm that theory. In addition to apparently using a debug mode to show Jason naked after a day of debate over whether the character would show dong in the upcoming open-world game, Cyberleek also appeared to recreate various gameplay clips that mirrored what was shown in Netflix’s August reveal.
We still don’t know anything else about who is operating the Cyberleek account, who they are working with, and to what extent these stunts are just an attempt to get rich and elevate their rank of online infamy rather than pushing for an end to certain gaming industry practices considered anti-consumer, as Cyberleek’s original manifesto claimed.
The Cyberleek account went silent in late August after reportedly withdrawing $250,000 from its coin, causing the crypto system to immediately crash. This latest threat resembles the second round of shots on the carpet, although this time with much more devastating consequences for Rockstar potentially attached to it.
The studio and parent company Take-Two subpoenaed Discord and Microsoft in August for a slew of online user recordings related to the posting and streaming of Cyberleek’s gaming videos. There have been no updates since on what Discord ended up handing over or how this investigation has progressed. Fans had also attempted to find out who was behind the leaks and unmask them, although those efforts seemed to take a backseat once the leaks were finally mitigated.
With just over a month to go GTA6 versions, this could end up being just a last ditch attempt to chase away influence and escape the hype or the worst game leak in history.
