Gypsy Rose Blanchard urges fans to sign online harassment petition in honor of late fiancé Ken Urker
Gypsy Rose Blanchard urged her followers to sign an online anti-harassment petition to honor her fiancé, Ken Urker, following his tragic death.
“In honor of Ken, I’m asking for your support for Kenan’s Law. 🤍,” she captioned an Instagram post on Sunday.
“Prior to his passing, Ken was the subject of massive online surveillance and what we believed crossed the line into targeted harassment and cyberbullying,” the reality star claimed.
“Reports were made across multiple platforms, and far too often the response was simply: ‘No violations.’ »
Blanchard, 35, said the law would aim to “change the way social media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment.”
“One viewed post alone may not tell the whole story, but hundreds of posts, videos, and comments to a single person can reveal a pattern that warrants further investigation,” she wrote.
“This isn’t about silencing critics or denying anyone free speech. Public figures can and should be criticized. But public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity.”
The “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up” alum said Urker’s death made her “determined to turn pain into purpose.”
“I can’t change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening,” she wrote.
“Please sign and share the petition to support Kenan’s Law. Fame does not erase humanity. A role model cannot always be understood one message at a time.”
As Page Six previously reported, Urker was found unresponsive in a Louisiana home on his 34th birthday, October 1.
Urker was allegedly discovered by a family member after he didn’t respond when Blanchard sent him a “happy birthday” message.
Following her passing, Blanchard spoke to TMZ, saying her “forever soulmate” died of an overdose.
Page Six exclusively reported that Urker — who had quietly split from Blanchard a month before his death — was found with drugs, drug paraphernalia and a handgun at the time of his death.
Ken’s sister, Autumn Urker, told the Daily Mail that she and her family were “disgusted” by Blanchard’s public statements.
“She hasn’t even called my mom or any of us yet,” Autumn told the outlet.
In a separate interview with the US Sun, Autumn accused Blanchard of lying about the circumstances of Ken’s death – specifically disputing claims that he was only found after he failed to respond to a message from her wishing him happy birthday.
“Gypsy had no right to lie and say it was because of a text she sent him,” she told the outlet.
Blanchard and Ken had an on-and-off relationship.
In 2018, Ken proposed to Blanchard while she was serving eight years in prison for the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
The couple briefly separated, and in July 2022, Blanchard married another correspondent, Louisiana teacher Ryan Scott Anderson, in prison.
Three months after Blanchard’s release from prison in 2024, she filed for divorce from Anderson and rekindled her romance with Ken.
They share a one-year-old daughter named Aurora, born in December 2024.
