Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s latest texts with ex-fiancé Ken Urker revealed
Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s final text messages with ex-fiancé Ken Urker before his tragic death last week have just been revealed. Their last written communication does not appear to match the “terrified” phone call he allegedly had with Blanchard.
A source told Page Six on Oct. 5 that Blanchard and Urker apparently had “normal” conversations about their 1-year-old daughter Aurora. “It was just normal — mostly about Aurora,” the insider said.
“She was speaking more like a friend kind of thing. Just on a co-parenting level,” the source continued. “So it was like, ‘Hey, how’s your day going? Cool.’ It wasn’t like, “Hey, what did you do?” “What did you watch on TV last night?” “Oh, we’re having that for dinner.” It wasn’t that sort of thing. You know, it was like he’s not interested right now, so I’m just going to talk about the baby.
The texts were not affectionate between the two, who had broken up a month before her death and were living separately. “They both said amicably a month ago, let’s leave it here, take our space and see where we are,” another source told Page Six on October 2.
The insider on Monday told the outlet that Blanchard stopped acting affectionate out of respect for Urker’s mental health. “Once Gypsy accepted that (their relationship) was over, that’s when she shut down any sort of relationship vibe,” the source said.
Blanchard first met Urker in 2017 while she was incarcerated for the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. They had an on-and-off relationship, getting engaged in 2018 and splitting in 2019 before Blanchard married Ryan Scott Anderson in 2022. Two years later, Blanchard divorced and she got back together with Urker, with whom she welcomed his child.
Urker was found dead at his home on the 34thth birthday October 1st. Urker’s sister, Autumn, told the Daily Mail on October 2 that Urker recently told her he was “terrified” of Blanchard, who “humiliated” him. According to Autumn, Urker thought Blanchard wouldn’t keep their daughter “safe.”

“It was his way or she would yell at him because he was trying to control her like his mother,” Autumn told the outlet. “Gypsy is not such a gentle person.” She added: “My brother was a good father. A good brother. A good son and a good friend. And we were all lucky and blessed to know him.”
This does not appear to match the seemingly informal and “normal” text message exchanges that Urker and Blanchard had before his death. One thing is clear, however: Urker had mental health issues.
Hours after Urker’s death, Blanchard told People, “I don’t know if it was intentional or not. He hasn’t been in a good state of mind lately.”
“I’m in disbelief. I can’t think,” she continued. “I screamed until my throat burned.” Blanchard added: “Ken endured an unimaginable level of public surveillance and relentless cyberbullying on social media platforms, including TikTok and Reddit. The cruelty directed at him was something no human being should have to endure. I believe the enormous weight of this surveillance and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment.”
“Ken was an extraordinary father and a deeply loved man. He will forever be my soul mate and my common thread, a bond that time, distance and even death can never erase,” added Blanchard.
