THE Pumpkaboo Sweet Surprises Event gives you the chance to get scary items for your Pokémon Pokopia world. Perfect, I worked on a cemetery. However, you will first need to find some Pumpkin candy! Also, don’t forget to meet Gourgeist during this Pokopia event. Keep reading if you need a helping hand, as I’ve covered everything you need to know about this event, including Pumpkaboo habitat.

Duration of the event: From October 17 to November 1 at 4:59 a.m. (local time)

Pumpkin Candy: How to get Pumpkin Candy in Pokopia

To get Pumpkin Candy in Pokopia, you must use camouflage to disguise yourself as a Pokémon’s favorite item. When said Pokémon notices you, it’s time to ditch the disguise and surprise it! You’ll get between one and three Pumpkin Candies for each Pokémon you trick.

Make sure to wait until the Pokémon has a bubble above its head, which says “A (Item Name)”. This is a sign that they’ve noticed you, so look around quickly! It may take a while for them to notice you, and if you feel like it’s taking too long, it’s best to move on to another target.

If you’re having trouble selecting the right item, take a look at the basic items you used to create the Pokémon’s habitat. A picnic basket, for example, is perfect for tricking Pikachu because it is part of the habitat required by this Pokémon. You can also use items you placed in their habitat to make them happy, much like I tricked Vaporeon into disguising myself as a bathtub.

When it comes to entering the Pokémon’s field of vision, in my experience you can simply move into its field of vision without any problems. This may reduce the amount of pumpkin candy you earn, but it’s better than nothing. Remember to wait for their bubble to appear before jumping out of them! It may also take longer for Pokémon to notice you if they are doing an activity like eating or talking to another Mon.

Finally, it’s worth noting that you can’t just trick the same Pokémon over and over again as there is a hidden reset timer. For this reason, it is best to visit as many different Pokémon as possible to surprise them.

Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises Event Explained

The Sweet Surprises of Pumpkaboo event runs from October 17 to November 1. (You can still time travel there if real life is currently outside of that time period.) To access this event, you must have rebuilt at least the Pokémon Center and learned camouflage from Zorua in Bleak Beach.

This event is not accessible in Bubbly Basin or the Cloud Islands.

When the event is in progress, the game will begin with a notification stating “There’s a Pokémon in the news.” If you are in Bubbly Basin, you will see a notification inviting you to visit Withered Wasteland. After reading this message, head to the Pokémon Center and you will find Pumpkin nearby. After a short conversation, Pumpkaboo will task you with collecting pumpkin candies before opening his shop at the Pokémon Center.

I hope you enjoy this spooky Pokopia event! If you’re still looking for Pokémon, be sure to take a look at the Pokédex, Habitat Dex, and Bubbly Basin Pokédex.
