Yesterday a young man was taken to hospital with meningitis, which can be a very serious infection for anyone who contracts it.
Meningococcal meningitis is spread through droplets of saliva and can be infectious for those who have had close, prolonged contact with the infected person.
It is extremely important to start treatment quickly. Therefore, if you experience fever, headache, with or without rash, and feel “unusually ill,” please seek medical attention immediately.
Crown Heights Hatzalah members are aware of the situation and can direct you to appropriate medical care, if necessary. A good and healthy Yom Tov.
