Haut-Doubs. Sub-prefect Nicolas Onimus is leaving for Saint-Quentin, his replacement will arrive in August

Four years ago, Nicolas Onimus arrived from Martinique and became sub-prefect of Pontarlier. Last Thursday, he was officially appointed to the same position, but in Saint-Quentin. A very different environment from the one he encountered in Haut-Doubs. “I’m going to discover a territory that I don’t know in the north of France, with inevitably different local issues,” he admits.

“On the other hand, I know the profession, I have been practicing it for six years, I am entering my seventh year, so I know the relationship with elected officials, the tools that the State puts in place for territorial development, decentralized services, etc. »

“Haut-Doubs is a land of events”

When taking a look in the rearview mirror, however, Nicolas Onimus struggles to highlight a single moment from his time in Haut-Doubs. “Between the Super Comice the year I arrived, the Tour de France last year, the passing of the Olympic flame, there were still many strong moments…”, he lists. “The visit of the President of the Republic was also something. Afterwards, it’s a land of events here. There is the Paille, the UTMJ, the Saugeathlon. I keep the image of a land of both tradition and innovation. And then I will remember elected officials who, I find, are of good quality. They are responsible and enterprising. This is not as true in other places. »

Nicolas Onimus will bid farewell to Haut-Doubs at the end of the month and will be replaced in August by Judith Husson, who will leave her position as sub-prefect in charge of mission, deputy secretary general of the Rhône prefecture.
