Hayden Panettiere’s Ex-Fiancé Makes Legal Move to Protect Daughter Kaya’s Inheritance: Documents

Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, has asked the court to be named guardian of the estate of their 11-year-old daughter Kaya, according to new court documents obtained by Page Six.

Klitschko filed papers in Los Angeles on Thursday to protect his daughter’s inheritance, noting that Kaya — who lives in Ukraine with her father — “is entitled to the entirety” of the late “Heroes” star’s assets.

The documents say it is “urgent and essential” that Klitschko, 50, be named temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate so that he “can receive, manage and hold” Kaya’s assets on her behalf.

Klitschko added in court documents that he was “informed and believed” that federal agents entered Panettiere’s Los Angeles residence as part of an ongoing investigation and “removed property belonging to Hayden’s estate.”

He stressed that there was no personal representative to safeguard the interests of Panettiere’s estate.

Court documents state: “Prior to his death, Hayden and (Klitschko) had hired a security service to protect Hayden’s home and its contents, following a documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access to Hayden’s property.

“The locks on Hayden’s home were changed by security following Hayden’s death, and storage units containing designer clothing and accessories worn in public appearances were moved as a precautionary measure.”

Although Klitschko did not specify the name of the individual, he asserted “the individual is expected to continue to attempt to misappropriate assets belonging to the Hayden estate. Given the high publicity of the Hayden estate, a personal representative must be appointed immediately to safeguard and protect the Hayden home and its contents.”

Klitschko also alleged that non-family members “accessed and destroyed” his emails. He also mentions that certain personal items, notably jewelry, “have disappeared or remained untraceable,” because some are in the possession of law enforcement.

Page Six reached out to Klitschko’s lawyers for comment.

Panettiere died from the toxic effects of several drugs, including fentanyl, at a South Carolina Airbnb on August 16. She was 35 years old.

The “Nashville” star’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was at the scene when she died.

Her parents, Lesley Vogel and Skip Panettiere, are fighting over the late star’s jewelry that she was wearing at the time of her death, according to the Greenville County coroner’s report obtained by Page Six last week.

One parent wanted the earrings — which were placed in a locker for safe keeping — mailed to them in North Carolina, while the other wanted them sent to their address in California.

Panettiere was estranged from her mother, who was once her manager, before her death.

Panettiere and Klitschko dated from 2009 to 2018. That year, she relinquished custody of her daughter amid her struggle with postpartum depression and addiction.

Panettiere spoke about her and the “really intense, incredible bond” between her and Kaya before her death.

“I travel as much as I can. I see her. I spend a lot of time on FaceTime with her, but we talk about really deep things,” she told Jay Shetty on the “On Purpose” podcast in May.

Panettiere also denied rumors that she abandoned her daughter on the podcast, saying, “I mean, the idea that someone would think that I would give my child away and be OK with that is heartbreaking. It couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Following Panettiere’s death, a source close to the “Scream” actress exclusively told Page Six that she planned to spend her birthday week with her daughter in Germany.

“She was so excited to see her and was telling everyone how much she couldn’t wait to spend time with her,” the source added.

Klitschko broke his silence on Panettiere’s passing in an emotional tribute on social media last month, calling her “an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya.”

“Our family is going through a time of deep shock and grief,” the former professional boxer wrote. “I am deeply saddened by the news of Hayden’s tragic death. She left this world far too soon.”

Klitschko added: “To our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was.”

Klitschko and Kaya did not attend Panettiere’s memorial reception in Malibu on September 19, which was attended by about 150 of her family and friends.

Vogel and Hickerson also missed the event.
