MONTREAL, Quebec (AP) — A helicopter crashed southeast of the Canadian city of Montreal on Saturday, killing all four people on board, police said.
Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, said the helicopter experienced difficulties before crashing around 2:30 p.m. in the municipality of Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, located about 50 kilometers southeast of Montreal.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire less than an hour after the accident, but the four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, Mr. Bilodeau said.
Provincial police have not yet identified the victims or the cause of the accident.
The spokesperson said the helicopter appeared to be a private plane.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada sent investigators to the accident site.
