Horror crash between bus and freight train at Channel Tunnel entrance leaves at least 19 injured

SEVERAL people are seriously injured after a terrifying collision between a freight train and a bus full of passengers.
The horror unfolded on a loading platform in the Channel Tunnel in France around 7:30 p.m.

Several fire trucks, doctors, a helicopter and around a hundred Eurotunnel employees rushed to the scene of the terrifying collision.

All the people on board the minibus were injured and they were “all men, and of different nationalities”, according to Agathe Cury, Pas de Calais prefectural source.
Cury said the minibus hit the Shuttle train just before it departed, “for reasons unknown.”
Two people were classified as “absolute emergency” by the authorities and flown to a hospital in Lille, she added.
The remaining 17 injured were transported to hospitals in Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening, according to local authorities in Pas-de-Calais.
The bus was carrying drivers for LeShuttle – a train that transports vehicles under the sea between England and France.
The drivers were about to board the Le Shuttle train when the accident occurred, according to local media.
Travel between England and France was halted in both directions for an hour and 30 minutes, according to La Voix du Nord, but has now resumed.
French media previously reported that the minibus overturned on the railway tracks before being hit by an oncoming freight train.
Eurostar trains are expected to run as normal, according to a recent update from the company.
The last two trains from Paris and London were canceled – but this was due to engineering work and not the bus crash.
It comes just days after a train was derailed in Normandy after what cops suspect was malicious sabotage.
The regional train was carrying 186 passengers when it derailed Friday evening in Cléon.
An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured during the action and was airlifted to hospital.
44 other passengers were injured in the terrifying train derailment.
And in April, a driver was killed after a speeding train slammed into a truck at a railroad crossing.
The train was carrying 250 passengers when it suddenly derailed in a horrific rush-hour collision in France.
The 56-year-old driver of the train was killed and 27 other people were injured.
