Howie Mandel narrowly escapes car explosion in video shared by daughter
Howie Mandel’s daughter shares fiery scene on TikTok, along with a warning her father should have taken seriously.
Jackelyn Shultz posted a TikTok video of the “America’s Got Talent” judge standing near a burning vehicle, capturing a moment that quickly sparked reactions on social media.
Mandel, 70, wore a blue jumpsuit and held a canned drink while appearing to record the fire on his phone near a Food4Less store.
“Dad, it could explode if there’s gas in it,” Shultz, 41, warned his father.
Seconds later, as Mandel turned to his daughter, an explosion of flames erupted behind him.
Shultz gave the chilling images a brutal caption: “Me: Psychic My Dad: An Idiot,” tagging his father’s account.

Viewers react to Howie Mandel’s burning car video
Since its publication less than a day ago, the video has already garnered 1.2 million views and many very strong reactions from viewers. Most people in the comments section were more concerned about the man walking toward the car behind Mandel, who seemed a little too close to the explosion.
Concerned user @seerskadi asked: “Is the guy behind him okay?!”
Another user @aspree78 wrote: “I wasn’t ready to see Howie Mandel turn around.”
“My man is afraid of germs but he’s fine near a car that’s about to explode,” another user wrote, referring to Mandel’s obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Beyond her work on television and podcasts, Mandel has spoken publicly about living with OCD. In a USA TODAY opinion column written by Mandel, he described the impact of the illness on his life and challenged the idea that OCD simply means being neat or organized.
“If OCD was just about having an organized pantry, then it wouldn’t trap me for hours every day. It wouldn’t feel like torture. And it probably wouldn’t have caused my wife to give me an ultimatum,” Mandel wrote.
Mandel has long spoken openly about his fear of germs, describing his germaphobia as part of his disorder.
“Most people know me as a germaphobe,” Mandel explained. “I can’t really argue with that. If you’ve ever seen me encounter a doorknob, you probably understand why.”

Shultz is one of three children Mandel shares with his wife, Terry Mandel. The couple also have a son, Alex, 36, and another daughter, Riley, 34.
