
Inside Zuckerberg, Huang pushes for White House AI pact
CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg was the chief architect of the “morally binding” agreements on AI that emerged Tuesday at the White House lunch with the president. Donald TrumpSpeaker Mike Johnson and more than a dozen technology executives, according to five people familiar with the private meeting.
Zuckerbergwith help from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huangpresented the so-called AI deals to senior White House officials and some of the biggest names in tech over lunch, three of the people said. Both Huang as well as Asset Administration officials helped shape the deal before the meeting, according to two of the people.
The five people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to share details of the discussions.
As part of the voluntary agreementSignatories would commit to the importance of putting safeguards in place to mitigate potential risks from advanced AI models, but without a clear enforcement mechanism, it is unclear what consequences they might face if they do not do so.
