iOS 27’s Siri is exactly right about one thing other AI assistants get wrong

Siri AI is a major upgrade to Apple’s assistant that’s now available in iOS 27. And there’s one notable area I’ve noticed where it differs greatly from other AI assistants — for the better.
iOS 27’s new Siri doesn’t pretend to be human, unlike all other AI chatbots

I’ve been using Siri AI for almost four months, since the first beta of iOS 27 launched. Overall, it checked all the boxes I hoped for.
The new Siri is much more capable than its predecessor, delivering on the initial promise of being a truly capable assistant on Apple devices.
I admit it though: if you need the most powerful cutting-edge AI tool, you may be better served by competitors like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini.
However, after using Siri AI and comparing it to these third-party tools, I noticed one key difference in which I greatly prefer Siri.
Unlike other AI chatbots, Siri don’t pretend to be human.
It’s not too wordy, mimicking a human personality that might entice you to form a personal relationship with her.
Siri is helpful, smart, and does what you ask it to do. But the way he reacts makes it clear that he is a tool and not a person. It regularly reminds you that it’s an AI, so it can make mistakes. And it won’t pretend to date you.
Whereas ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are all bursting with personality, opinions and demonstrating more human tendencies in a way that, to me, seems disingenuous.
I imagine that some users appreciate this more “personal” approach. But I’d much rather AI assistants stay in their lane and not pretend to be something they’re not.
AI is changing the world. But AI chatbots are tools, not people. And I love that Apple understands this and built the new Siri accordingly.
