iPhone 18 Pro a month later: these features continue to impress me

I’ve had the iPhone 18 Pro for about a month now, and in that time, three main features have always impressed me.
#1: Battery life

When Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, it compared its battery life to that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, a model universally praised for its impressive battery life.
After a month of use, the iPhone 18 Pro’s battery is truly top-notch. I don’t even think about charging it during the day, and at the end of almost every day I have about 60% battery left.
I can’t even imagine what I would end the day with if I had the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max. Suffice it to say, Apple’s battery upgrades this year are excellent, and anyone with an older model iPhone should be very happy, no matter which Pro size you choose.
#2: Main Camera Upgrades

Apple improves iPhone cameras every year. But it’s not very often that the main camera improves significantly. Over the past two years, for example, Apple has focused more on upgrading telephoto, ultra-wide, and front-facing cameras.
But the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable aperture main camera is the star this year, and I love it.
I don’t have a professional background in photography, so I’m not interested in adding professional commissions. And I never manually change apertures with the camera. But by just using the “Auto” setting, I still take photos that I think are particularly good. Most of the time they are ƒ/1.48, with a few ƒ/1.8s as well. And while I don’t have the expertise to describe why they look so good to me, I’ll just say that I’m very happy with the camera.
#3: Cooling the vapor chamber

I use my iPhone outside a lot, on frequently sunny days, and the iPhone 18 Pro’s vapor chamber has been a welcome improvement to keep the iPhone usable.
Previous iPhone models often struggled to withstand the elements, especially in hot, bright weather. This proved particularly frustrating when I was trying to capture a special moment with the Camera app and my hot iPhone was too slow to take the photo.
With the iPhone 18 Pro, even though it’s still a bit warm at times, I never noticed any lag in performance. Instead, the vapor chamber keeps everything cool enough to deliver the iPhone experience I expect.
