Jackson Chourio hits to lift the Brewers past the Padres in Game 2 and take a 2-0 NLDS lead
The Milwaukee Brewers, thanks to Jackson Chourio, got the job done at home.
The Brewers, after a wild win to open their series with the San Diego Padres on Saturday, took a 2-0 lead in the NLDS series after Chourio singled Sunday afternoon. That gave the Brewers a 4-3 victory before the series moved to San Diego for Game 3 on Tuesday night.

The Padres controlled most of the game Sunday and took the lead after Ty France hit an RBI single in the first inning. But after hanging with them throughout the contest, the Brewers loaded the bases after Padres reliever Mason Miller walked three with two outs.
That brought Chourio to the plate. After swinging for the fences twice and fouling out on a third cutoff, he hit a perfect two-RBI single into center field. That scored one easily, and the Padres’ attempt to throw out Sal Frelick at home failed.
Naturally, the Brewers broke out.
The third game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday evening in San Diego. The Brewers, thanks to two crazy victories, are now in total control of the series.
