James McAvoy’s only “consistent” residual money comes from his 2017 film “Split.”

The actor explained on Thursday’s episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he “very rarely” gets anything worthwhile from his other films.

“You get a few checks here for a few hundred pounds,” the Golden Globe nominee noted. “Sometimes you get checks for like 25 cents.”

Debunking animator Josh Horowitz’s belief that he got “soft” residuals from 2008’s “Wanted,” McAvoy clarified that he wasn’t “making too much money from” the project.

As for why “Split” continues to rake in money, the “Shameless” alum told listeners, “It was made for $6 million or something like that. I would say they spent $30 (million) on advertising. Our first weekend we made $40 (million), so we made a profit. Our first residual check came at the end of the first weekend.”

He called it “crazy” and credited the film’s “super smart” director, M. Night Shyamalan.

McAvoy, notably, played a character with 24 personalities in “Split” — and, Horowitz recalled during Thursday’s session, there were “real discussions” at the time that the role would be “recognized” during awards season.

However, McAvoy was not nominated for any major industry awards and did not find this a “big surprise”.

“I received this gold bar, I made my own and I had a ceremony for it,” he joked, before clarifying why he had not “particularly” bought into talk that he would be honored.

“I didn’t think it would really be well received in this sphere,” McAvoy said. “Some horror or horror movie performances are popping up now, but even then there aren’t that many of them.

“Given the amount of good work being done in this area, I still don’t see enough representation of that good work,” he continued. “That’s kind of how I feel with all awards shows, of all kinds.”

Acknowledging that the projects recognized are “generally very good,” McAvoy said he thinks there are “20, 40 (or) 50 equally or better” — that are simply not “part of the club.”

He doubled down on the fact that things were “a little different,” pointing to the viral attention “Obsession” received after its release in May.

McAvoy praised lead actress India Navarrette’s “ability to pivot…from one moment to the next,” comparing her “disturbing” performance alongside Michael Johnston to him “making all these moves” in “Split.”

“The psychological right angle that she is capable of in this film is disturbing in itself,” he said. “It’s not only impressive, it’s not only… skillful acting, it’s also part of what’s scary about her.”

McAvoy has been on a press tour all week promoting his film “California Schemin” — and spilled the tea during a feud on the set of “Watch What Happens Live” on Monday.

The “Band of Brothers” alum made headlines when he looked at a cast photo and confirmed that one of the actors in the photo had bullied him.

He revealed: “(My co-star) got him and his pals to point at me and make fun of me for like three minutes.”
