Jennifer Lawrence finally confirms the return of “Hunger Games” in “Sunrise”
Jennifer Lawrence finally confirms her return The hunger games franchise.
The actress discussed her return as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming Sunrise over the harvestwhich opens next month. Lawrence also confirmed that she reunited with her old hunger games co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson, whose participation has also long been speculated.
Lawrence was interviewed by Call her daddy host Alex Cooper about her return to the franchise, and the actress responded, “Unbelievable. It was so crazy because it was the same crew. It was the same camera guys, the same AD, that I’ve worked with a million times…and Josh and Woody and it was SO emotional. Like Josh and I, we don’t go to the bathroom without our arms around each other. It was so beautiful.
She also added that Harrelson climbed out of her hotel window.
“And Woody obviously came in through my hotel room window uninvited because it wouldn’t be the same. It wouldn’t be the same if he listened to boundaries and used a door.”
The actress also revealed that she got a pixie cut in 2013 in protest. The hunger games producers initially refused to give her a wig for Mockingjay after the actress became frustrated with having to dye her hair brown.
“I was in The hunger games and I really wanted to use a wig because I was tired of dyeing my hair brown and they refused to give me a wig,” she said. “And so I had my first tiny protest against the worst haircut that anyone had ever seen in their life – which was the pixie, famously.”
In Sunrise over the harvest is a prequel set 24 years before the original film, which follows 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy as he participates in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, in which twice as many tributes are forced to fight to the death. Joseph Zada plays young Haymitch and Ralph Fiennes is President Snow. Legacy characters should appear in Flashforwards or in a framing device. The film opens on November 20.
