Jennifer Lawrence probably had multiple plastic surgery procedures costing $30,000 for a ‘younger’ look
Jennifer Lawrence may have undergone several cosmetic procedures to achieve a visibly refreshed appearance, with plastic surgeons estimating the work could cost more than $30,000.
Double board-certified plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Samuel Golpanian exclusively told Page Six that the Oscar winner, 36, appears to have undergone subtle changes around her eyes and eyebrows that have given her a “brighter, more youthful appearance.”
“First of all, I think Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful. She’s aging gracefully, and no matter what she’s done or not done, she looks refreshed and very natural,” Golpanian said.
“I’m not his doctor, so I can only comment on what I see in the photos,” he noted.
The surgeon explained that when comparing older photos of Lawrence with more recent images, he noticed a difference in the appearance of his upper eyelids.
“When I look at some of her previous photos, especially around her eyes, there appears to be some sagging of the skin near the outer corners of her eyebrows,” he said.
“In the most recent photos, her eyes look visibly more open and refreshed. You can see more of her upper eyelids, especially towards the outer corners, which gives her a brighter, more youthful appearance.”
Golpanian said it’s possible the “Hunger Games” star underwent “an upper blepharoplasty, which removes excess skin from the upper eyelids. But often, this procedure is performed at the same time as a brow lift.”
“In her case, I wouldn’t rule out a lateral brow lift, which lifts the outer portion of the brows and helps lift the skin that hangs over the eyes,” he explained. “The two procedures complement each other, so it’s certainly possible that she had both.”
Dr. Sean McNally, a board-certified plastic surgeon and primary provider for Doctor PDX and Reviance in Portland, Oregon, also reviewed photos of Lawrence and agreed that his appearance is consistent with both procedures, pointing out that his eyebrows appear slightly asymmetrical, with the left being slightly higher than the right.
McNally estimated that both procedures would typically cost about $15,000, including surgeon and facility fees, but said the price could climb to $30,000 or more with a high-end plastic surgeon in Los Angeles or Beverly Hills.
However, Dr. Rozbeh Torabi, a double board-certified plastic surgeon at Elite Plastic Surgery, said, “I would say (she may have had a brow lift), but subtle changes can also be achieved with Botox and a small amount of filler and some lasers. The upper eyelids don’t look finished because there is a small amount of excess skin.”
As for whether Lawrence could have undergone additional cosmetic enhancements, Golpanian pointed out changes in the appearance of his cheeks.
“In her previous photos, her cheeks looked a little fuller and rounder, whereas today they look more sculpted and defined,” he said.
“It could just be the result of weight loss, potentially including weight loss associated with GLP-1 medications, or it could be something like the elimination of buccal fat. There’s really no way to know just by looking at photos.”
Golpanian emphasized that even though Lawrence has undergone additional work, he believes his appearance remains natural.
However, McNally said he doesn’t see much evidence for additional cosmetic procedures beyond a possible brow lift and eyelid surgery.
“Ultimately, I think she looks great. If she’s done something, the results look subtle and natural, which is really what you want,” he said.
“The goal should always be to look like an updated version of yourself, not a completely different person.”
None of the three surgeons treated Lawrence and their assessments are based solely on photographs.
The doctors’ observations come just days after Lawrence candidly outlined his views on plastic surgery in an interview with The Cut published Tuesday.
The actress, who launched her new haircare brand Mes this week, revealed she has undergone a breast lift and hopes to eventually get a lift.
“I want to be a hot mom,” she told the outlet. “At filing time, I want to look like a woman who has her stuff together, even if I just woke up and I don’t have my stuff together.”
Lawrence previously opened up about plans to have breast surgery after welcoming her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, whom she married in 2019.
The couple, notoriously private about their family life, also share an older son, Cy, whom they welcomed in 2022.
Although Lawrence has been open about her future plans for cosmetic surgery, she has not publicly confirmed having undergone eyelid surgery or a brow lift.
