Jimmy Kimmel has set his sights on Katie Zacharia, the latest blonde woman to serve as Donald Trump’s press secretary. On Tuesday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel liveKimmel recounted Zacharia’s disastrous first day on the job.
“It was the first day of preschool for new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia,” Kimmel said. “You know, Trump has been president for quite a long time now. I think it’s been about, what, 50 or 60 years? And to keep him awake and interested every six months they bring in a new adorable blond idiot to add to the rotation.”
He continued, “Things didn’t start off well for Malibu Katie today. Her first briefing was brief. It only lasted 14 minutes, but even in that short time, she accomplished exactly what she was set out to do, which was slobber an entire tube of lip gloss all over the president’s butt.”
Kimmel cut to a clip of Zacharia saying she’s wanted to work for Trump for a very long time. “She wanted to work for him for a very long time,” Kimmel repeated. “And really, that’s all it takes these days. Just that and dressing like you’re about to pre-board a Delta Airlines flight.”
After playing another clip of Zacharia reading slowly and mechanically from a piece of paper, Kimmel joked, “Her reading is good for an 11-year-old. He hired a fourth-grader to be a press secretary!”
The host detailed Zacharia’s background, calling her “a real piece of work.” “She made a name for herself calling Democrats pedophiles on social media and giving weight to Pizzagate,” he noted. “So I’m sure she will immediately demand that everyone named in the Trump-Epstein files be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”
Kimmel released a series of clips of Zacharia’s work as a talking head to various media outlets, in which she claimed, among other things, that it was a “woke movie.” The Odyssey would make “no money”.
“Well, that woke movie made $1.8 billion,” Kimmel said. “So we have a smart one here.”
He added that many people are wondering how long Zacharia will last after his poor performance at Tuesday’s press conference. “Katie’s first outing was, as her boss might say, a total disaster,” Kimmel concluded. “But I was impressed: Do you know how difficult it is to become Trump’s worst press secretary so quickly?”
Zacharia previously served as a junior spokesperson for former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. She was chosen to replace Karoline Leavitt as press secretary earlier this week, making her the sixth person to take the White House podium under Trump.
