Jonathan Taylor: Bengals show strong trade interest and deal expected to happen
Jordan Schultz reported Monday that the Bengals are among six teams reportedly pursuing Taylor heavily.
Although Schultz didn’t name a favorite, he went so far as to say he expects a deal to be made. So it may be a question of when, not if, Taylor will be traded.
“My understanding is that five to six teams are pursuing him aggressively: the Giants, the Packers, the Broncos, the Seahawks, the Bengals, the Vikings,” Schultz reported on The Pivot podcast.
“I think he would also be open to a fresh start, and I think it’s going to take at least one plus second-round pick, as well as additional compensation to make that happen. And I actually expect that to happen.”
We’re just a week away from the NFL trade deadline on November 10th. It appears Taylor will be moved between now and then, and that would be one of the biggest decisions a team has made this year.
One thing is for sure: After Sunday’s close win against the Titans, it’s clear that the Bengals need more firepower if they want to truly contend for a Super Bowl. The team we saw on Sunday and for the first 30 minutes in Baltimore will be hard-pressed to secure a playoff spot, let alone make a serious run.
Let’s see how aggressive the Bengals will be.
