After nearly five decades in Washington, DC, we prepare to say goodbye to our longtime home on 17th Street as we look toward a new chapter in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Our last day of service at our longtime home on 17th Street will be December 31, 2026.

Since Floriana Nestore founded the restaurant in 1979, Floriana has been built on the belief that hospitality should be personal, like coming to dinner at a friend’s house. Over the years, we have had the privilege of becoming a gathering place for celebrations, first dates, birthdays, Pride festivities, neighborhood traditions and countless shared memories.

Every plate of handmade pasta, every bottle of wine, and every familiar face welcomed into our home is part of a story much bigger than a restaurant. Thanks to you, Floriana has become integrated into the social fabric of Washington, DC.

Our decision to leave our historic home was not taken lightly. To our loyal customers, neighbors, friends and everyone who has shared a meal with us along the way, we express our deep gratitude for the extraordinary memories, friendships and support you have given us over the years. Thank you for making Floriana what she is today.
