Kai Trump underwent another wrist surgery for a recent golf-related injury.
President Trump’s eldest grandson, 19, posted an update on Instagram on Wednesday, announcing that the procedure had been a success. She included a selfie from her hospital bed showing her left arm in a cast and sling.
According to the statement included in the post, Trump, who is a competitive golfer on the University of Miami women’s golf team, underwent surgery to repair a wrist injury suffered during her first tournament of the season.

“Although I had hoped to avoid surgery, after speaking with my family, coaches and athletic training staff, I know I made the best decision for my long-term health and my future in the sport I love,” she said.

“This is certainly not how I envisioned the next few months, but sometimes the journey takes an unexpected turn, and I choose to approach this one with patience and a lot of determination.”

The statement goes on to say that recovery “will take time,” but the young athlete acknowledged that she is “incredibly lucky to be surrounded by extraordinary people who continue to uplift me, encourage me and remind me that every challenge is an opportunity to grow.”
“Having the right people on your side makes all the difference, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” she added.
The social media influencer also called out her doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York, where she was treated.

“A special thank you to Dr. Carlson and the incredible team at HSS in New York for taking such good care of me, as well as my teammates, coaches, family and everyone who has supported me along my journey,” Kai Trump said.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends” in July, the president’s granddaughter said she had undergone wrist surgery six months earlier.
She also admitted to being “a little nervous” about starting her freshman year and Division I golf career at the University of Miami.

“(I’m) a little nervous, I’m not going to lie, but I’m ready for the next chapter,” she said. “And I love my siblings. I’m not far from them, about an hour and a half.”

When asked where she gets her “competitive advantage,” Trump cited her mother and the president as two likely influences.
