Kaitlan Collins shows off mug with Trump Dig
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins took a subtle on-air dig at President Donald Trump.
Collins went on air this week with a mug in plain sight on her desk during her three-times-a-week show, The sourcecarrying a provocative message.
“America needs bad women,” it reads.

Collins has been the target of Trump’s anger toward the press, and particularly his habit of berating and criticizing female journalists.
In a 2023 town hall during the Republican primaries, Collins asked Trump about boxes of classified documents that the FBI said he had sequestered at Mar-a-Lago and refused to return, ultimately leading to a raid.
During this terse exchange, Trump told Collins, “You are a nasty person.”

Since returning to the White House, Trump’s attacks on Collins have become even more frequent.
In December, he began an article on Truth Social by misspelling his name, writing: “Caitlin Collin from Fake News CNN, always stupid and mean.”
His obsession with “fake news” media organizations came to a head in September when he banned CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House and kicked CNN off Air Force One.
After the ban was overturned by one of Trump’s appointed judges on First Amendment grounds, the president then kicked CNN off Air Force One and outright antagonized Collins, targeting her and telling her she “shouldn’t be here.”
Time this week published a lengthy interview with Trump in which he attacked Collins while declaiming that the media only covers negative stories.
“So at some point you say, ‘What is the point of this crazy Kaitlan Collins?’ He is a very average person. She’s the unhappiest young person I’ve ever seen,” Trump said.
“If I did something spectacular by any standard and they wrote about it, they would only write badly.”
Collins showed off his mug while speaking with CNN data guru Harry Enten on The source Wednesday. She also had the mug on Friday night’s show, as CNN contributor Jennifer Mascia pointed out.
“I love Kaitlan Collins’ mug on CNN tonight: ‘America needs bad women’ 🔥😈,” she wrote.

CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but strongly supported Collins and the entire White House reporting team amid the president’s attacks.
The White House also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
