Kamala Harris receives crickets from Mississippi rally crowd after butchering motivational quote
Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ attempt to inspire voters at a Democratic rally in Mississippi failed Thursday after she was forced to repeat a confusing quote in a far-from-full high school gymnasium.
“You know, I mentor a lot of young people, and I talk to them sometimes and part of the advice I give them is, you know, never let someone else with limited abilities see your abilities limit your ambition,” Harris said at the Columbus, Miss., rally for Democratic Senate hopeful Scott Colom.
The applause line received virtually no reaction from the crowd, prompting the stunned former vice president to painfully repeat it.

“Let me repeat that: Never let someone else’s limited ability see your ability be a limit to your ambition,” she said, drawing more reactions from rally participants.
“It’s their limit. It’s not our limit. It’s their limit,” Harris continued, before delivering more of his signature “word salad.”
“We are not limited in our ambition, our desire and our ability to see what is possible and what can be,” she told the crowd.
Colom, a state attorney who is challenging incumbent Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) in the midterm elections, said his decision to invite the failed 2024 presidential candidate to run for him raised eyebrows.
“Why would you do that?” Colom said he was asked.
“You know what I told them: ‘Why not?’ the Senate candidate told the audience before Harris’ awkward speech.
Social media users also commented on the “new accent” the former vice president appeared to deploy at the event in the Deep South.
“Kamala Harris Just Revealed a New Accent at a Mississippi Rally,” reads an End Wokeness article on X. “It might be her worst yet.”
The post included a clip from the rally of Harris repeatedly shouting, “Mississippi matters” and “We have 12 days,” in reference to the upcoming election.
“Fucking cringe…it’s like nails on a chalkboard,” talk show host Chris Ripa remarked on X. “And what’s that new accent.”
