KC Concepcion: The Browns are confident and prepare Shedeur Sanders for Sunday
The Browns did not officially name Shedeur Sanders as starter this week, but with Deshaun Watson in concussion protocolall signs point in this direction.
Those signs include Browns receiver KC Concepcion, who said today that the offense is rallying around Sanders to prepare him to play against the Saints.
“What happened to Deshaun is unfortunate, but we will regain confidence in Shedeur and prepare him for Sunday,” Concepcion said.
Sanders lost a quarterback competition with Watson during the preseason, and Watson played better than expected during the regular season. So Sanders barely played this year, staying on the field just long enough to throw three passes. But on Sunday he could start.
Last year, Sanders started seven games as a rookie and struggled, but this year he will be able to show the kind of progress he has made. The Browns, who have playoff aspirations, must hope he is ready.
