Kevin Reynolds is recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor.
DES MOINES, IA —
Gov. Reynolds said her husband, First Gentleman Kevin Reynolds, was diagnosed with a cancer recurrence after a three-year remission and was recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor.
“Our family is like many others who experience the ups and downs of being diagnosed with cancer over time. We have been incredibly fortunate to have had an excellent medical team since Kevin’s first diagnosis in September 2023, and we are grateful that they will remain with us as we begin this next phase of treatment.
“Kevin and I are a strong team. Over 44 years of marriage, we have faced life’s challenges together and overcome them. And now, with the strength and support of our family, we will face this fight together, just like everyone else, with faith, hope and love.
“We deeply appreciate the prayers of Iowans during this time. And our prayers for healing are with every family facing cancer.”
Kevin Reynolds was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2023.
