Kim Kardashian has revealed she “needed to heal” before her romance with Lewis Hamilton.
In a new interview with the Times’ Style Magazine, the reality TV icon revealed that after her high-profile split from Kanye West in 2021 – aside from a brief romance with Pete Davidson – she “was really single for five years.”
The Skims founder, 45, called the breakup “great,” noting that she “could focus on (her) kids and the projects that (she) really wanted to be involved in.”
“I really didn’t feel rushed,” she continued. “I definitely didn’t feel empty. I felt like I needed my time.”
The “American Horror Story” actress said she hopes to “completely heal and work on herself” following her volatile breakup with the “Stronger” rapper, with whom she shares children North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
“I wasn’t ready to open up,” she continued. “I didn’t even think about it. The universe works in your favor when you let it.”
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star and the Formula One driver — who have known each other since 2014 — kicked off their romance hard in February, when they stepped out together at the Super Bowl to watch the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots in Southern California.
Since then, they have kept their relationship largely under wraps, aside from an occasional glimpse on social media of their sweet moments together.
Hamilton took to Instagram in July, sharing photos of the couple packing on the PDA during a family getaway. In the poignant caption, he urged his supporters to “keep your people close.”
In August, he shared intimate, never-before-seen date night photos with the TV personality, captioning them: “Rest, Rest, Rejuvenate 🔋🔋🔋.”
Kardashian herself shared a cute PDA mirror selfie with Hamilton, in which she wore a pink Gucci bikini as he affectionately held her waist out.
While her divorce from West presented challenges — with her mother Kris Jenner telling her that “the years to come would be the best of (her) life,” according to a September 2025 Vogue cover story — the mother of four appears to have maintained respect for another ex.
In an interview with Variety last month, Davidson — whom she dated for nine months in 2022 — recalled the rigors of dating within the famous family.
“Look, man, it’s a really difficult atmosphere if you’re not up for it,” the 32-year-old comedian told the outlet.
“One of the things I love about Kim and her whole family is that they say, ‘This is what we do,'” he added. “I found it very attractive and mature.”
