The US ambassador to Greece was arrested while begging for $100,000, according to a new report.

Kimberly Guilfoyle asked a MAGA donor to pay a $100,000 American Express bill without leaving a paper trail, according to an explosive new report.

Guilfoyle, 57, now the U.S. ambassador to Greece, requested a cash infusion from Eric Deters, a 63-year-old former congressional candidate from Kentucky, he told the Wall Street Journal, which also reviewed alleged Signal texts between the two.

Deters released a file of photos with Guilfoyle from the time he was paying her.

“This won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” Trump appointee Guilfoyle texted Deters, according to the Journal. “Please.”

In another message shared with the Journal, she reportedly wrote: “Honey, please, I need you to do this for me today. You can just send it here.”

This is the message Guilfoyle sent to Deters asking for money saying “It won’t show up anywhere if you transfer money to American Express…”

The Journal reports that this latest text, accompanied by a praying hands emoji and a PDF containing bill payment instructions from American Express, was sent on July 3, 2025, less than a week before his July 9 confirmation hearing.

The texts came as Deters sought Guilfoyle’s help to “focus the attention of the new Trump administration on certain legal and personal tax issues,” according to the WSJ.

Among the photos of Deters and Guilfoyle are images of the Kentucky Derby.

Deters ultimately did not make the payment. He says he told Guilfoyle, then still freshly separated from Donald Trump Jr., that it would end his marriage. However, the Journal reports that in one message, Deters wrote that he had paid Guilfoyle $300,000 over the years and had “received no favors.”

He reportedly added: “I’m neither naive nor stupid. I need results.”

Guilfoyle responded that Deters needed to stop creating a paper trail.

Deters and Guilfoyle posed together for photos several times.

“Stop putting all this stuff on paper,” she wrote, according to the WSJ. “It’s really dangerous… Just call me on Signal.”

The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Beast.

Deters appeared in a series of photographs with Guilfoyle when they met.

Guilfoyle’s attorney, Jesse Binnall, told the WSJ that he disputed the authenticity of the messages, but declined to provide details to the newspaper. He said Guilfoyle “owed a paycheck for traveling and supporting these patriotic events.” Deters denies that he owed Guilfoyle anything.

A U.S. Embassy official told the Journal: “Guilfoyle’s career, in and out of public service, is guided by deep and respectful values. The bipartisan Senate Foreign Relations Committee fully reviewed her and the U.S. Senate confirmed her. The ambassador remains committed to representing the American people with dedication and integrity.”

However, in the texts reviewed by the WSJ, she seemed aware of the seriousness of her relationship with Deters.

“It’s amazing, when we have a private deal with you, that you are now copying a producer talking about money,” she allegedly texted him, upset that Deters had talked to a producer about their deal on his podcast. “Don’t say we have an arrangement.”

She continued: “What a nightmare you are literally going to cost me my ambassadorship, stop writing.”
