Kristen Bell has help keeping up on the home front, even when her job takes her away.

“I’ve been in and out of town for the last six weeks because of this press tour, which is always like, as a mom, you get nervous about leaving town, but then you realize they’re OK,” The Nobody wants that star explained Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I don’t get any calls from school that they’re absent. I come home, no one has stitches.”

Bell and Dax Shepard, her husband since 2013, are the parents of daughters Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11.

“Here’s what he didn’t take into account: I obviously have a mole on the ground,” Bell said. “So I was getting paparazzi photos of my oldest daughter that were like, ‘It’s 10 p.m., we’re supposed to be in bed, but Daddy’s in the cereal cupboard, and he’s like a wild pig.'”

Fallon noted that Lincoln “took some sneaky photos” and he showed one that showed the Armchair expert the host really digs into a late night snack.

“That’s my girlfriend right there!” » said Bell.

Fallon observed that Shepard was “going cuckoo to Cocoa Puffs.”

Cereal was a change, Bell said. Because usually when she leaves town, Shepard and her girls turn to a different type of snack.

“I usually get notifications almost immediately on my phone,” Bell said. “Your McDonald’s has been delivered.” “Your Taco Bell has been delivered.” That’s all: they just eat fast food.

Shepard said during a SXSW panel in March 2023 that, for him, “nothing compares to being a dad. It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.”

He continued: “When I have failures in life, I come home and I’m still a dad. It’s the most transformative experience. You can feel like that’s the reason you’re here.”

Not that it’s always easy.

Bell explained to Hustle this week, marriage and parenthood are as difficult for her as they are for anyone else.

“It’s hard,” she said. “Don’t think that because I’m in front of your television it’s easy for me. It’s brutal. I cry every week.”
