Leave it to Anne Hathaway to plan the red carpet

On Monday evening, Anne Hathaway was filmed organizing photographers at the Truth premiere in New York, explaining how she and her actors would pose for photos. The clip quickly made the rounds on social media, where netizens praised the actress for taking control of the situation.
Hathaway, however, was apparently so mortified by the moment that she issued an apology during an appearance on Tonight’s show Wednesday. “It’s like mom mode for a chorus line!” ” she said, adding that she was “trying to be helpful. There were so many of us and the photographers were angry, and so the mood was changing.”
Personally, I don’t think Hathaway should be embarrassed. When I watch this video, I see a woman who takes her business seriously. After 25 years in the game, Hathaway surely understands all the ways a red carpet event can go wrong. It seems to me that she took that field research to good use and made life easier for everyone involved.
In fact, if Hathaway ever has free time, she should be in charge of more red carpets. This would take a lot of pressure off Chappell Roan.
