Lines surround Apple’s Fifth Avenue flagship store in Midtown for the release of the new iPhone Duo
MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — The frenzy over Apple’s new foldable iPhone has caused long lines at Apple stores in New York.
Lines formed outside the Fifth Avenue flagship store Friday morning as eager fans waited to get their hands on the company’s first foldable device, the iPhone Duo.
And according to reports, people started lining up at 4 p.m. Thursday around the corner from the Apple Store in SoHo.
Apple describes the phone as having a revolutionary foldable design.
It has the largest screen ever on an iPhone and it will also be the thinnest iPhone ever.
The phone opens to a 7.6-inch screen, 80% larger than the latest iPhone 18 Pro. It will allow users to use an Apple Pencil on their phone, a feature previously reserved for iPad users.
Apple also promises that the phone has an advanced camera and a new IOS operating system experience.
The Duo also lets users split the screen to use two different apps on the device, or two windows on the same website for things like comparison shopping.
The phone will cost you between $1,900 and up to $3,000, depending on the storage capacity selected.
