Liverpool 2-0 Brighton player assessor: Isak, Barcola and Wirtz introduce themselves
Alison: He had no saves to make in the first half but was almost punished when Yasin Ayari hit the post after his careless pass out from behind. Will be delighted with the clean sheet. 7
Ronald Araujo: He showed great strength in the build-up to the opening goal and was again solid defensively. He almost scored too but his effort was saved. 7
Jérémie Jacquet: Another good performance. Composed on the ball and made some crucial blocks. 7
Virgil van Dijk: Back to his usual self after a relatively poor midweek performance. Another clean sheet in the Premier League. 7
Milos Kerkez: He didn’t have the best of games and had his work cut out against Diego Gomez, but was ultimately part of a Liverpool backline that kept Brighton away. 6
Ryan Gravenberch: A solid work rate, especially in a game where Liverpool had far less of the ball. 7
Alexis MacAllister: Certainly one of Liverpool’s best players this season and apart from a few loose passes, it was another encouraging display from the Argentine. 7
Bradley Barcola: He teeed off superbly for Isak and was a handful all afternoon for Olivier Boscagli. I did everything except score. 8
Florian Wirtz: Played with such confidence and unfortunately his strike was a Gross own goal. This caused Brighton a lot of problems throughout. He left shortly after receiving treatment. 8
Cody Gakpo: Constantly threatened, downplaying his favored left, and saw two efforts saved. Unlucky not to get an assist too. 7
Alexandre Isak: A simple finish but in the right place at the right time for his sixth Premier League goal in as many games. Not yet in his best form but with these figures, Andoni Iraola will be delighted. 7
Submarines:
Nyoni (at 65, Wirtz): A solid challenge immediately upon arrival and the teenager looks to be improving every week. 7
Ngumoha (77, Barcola): N / A
Koumas (77, Isak): N / A
Tsimikas (88, Kerkez): N / A
Unused subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, McConnell.
